Alaska Airlines buy 1 get 1 promo, attend SJ Sharks hockey game on Feb. 27

As an official sponsor for the San Jose Sharks NHL hockey team, Alaska Airlines will be handing out buy 1 get 1 (BOGO) free vouchers for all attendees at the SJ Sharks hockey game on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at 7:30 pm against the New Jersey Devils.  This BOGO promo is similar to the one that they offered for the San Francisco Giants last September, except your flight needs to depart from San Jose International Airport (SJC).

*Buy one coach class ticket at the regular price and get a second ticket for just the taxes. Discount code is valid for 50% off coach base fare levels published at alaskaair.com. Valid for itineraries with exactly two people, traveling together and booked and ticketed at the same time in the same reservation and at the same fare; valid for one-way or round-trip travel. If the itinerary is canceled or changed, any refund or credit issued will be for the discounted price for each ticket.

The following restrictions also apply:
  • Flight tickets must be purchased by March 1, 2020 by 11:59 pm PST
  • Travel is valid from April 21 - June 10, 2020
  • Discount code is valid from San Jose (SJC) to any Alaska Airlines city (excluding Prudhoe Bay)
  • Travel to Hawaii, Mexico, or Costa Rica is valid Sundays through Wednesdays. Travel from Hawaii, Mexico, or Costa Rica is valid Tuesdays through Fridays. All other travel is valid Monday through Thursday and Saturdays.
If you were planning on flying on Alaska Air with a companion into or out of SJC within the allowable timeframes, this could definitely be a good deal for you as the ticket prices start at just $19.50.  It's been a pretty dismal year for the Sharks, so I unfortunately wouldn't expect much production from the Sharks, and that's coming from a lifelong Sharks fan.  But if $20 and watching a Sharks game can get your companion a free ticket to Hawaii, then it'd totally be worth it.  And if you don't fancy hockey, you can always walk into the arena, get the voucher, and head out.  Yeah, I'll probably judge you for doing that, but nobody else will?

Still contributing at the age of 40, "Jumbo" Joe Thornton is a lock for the Hockey Hall of Fame

After getting your BOGO voucher, head over to the promo page, enter your unique discount code, and then book your flight.

Quick thoughts

This is another good promo from Alaska Airlines.  I like how as a sponsor, they actively engage their partners and their clientele (Sharks fans) instead of just throwing up billboards or commercials.  If you can get the dates to work for you and your companion, I would definitely jump on this offer since there are still plenty of cheap tickets available for the Sharks game.
