PayPal deal: $25 cashback after spending $35 x3 at Walmart, Doordash, and more

PayPal is currently offering a deal where you can get $25 cashback after spending $35 three times (x3) at the following online merchants:
  • Walmart
  • DoorDash
  • GAP
  • Old Navy
  • Athleta
  • Banana Republic
  • Ulta

The deal is limited to the first 130,000 customers, and ends on December 31, 2020.  In order to be eligible, you need to first save the offer to your PayPal account and pay with your PayPal account at the respective online merchant.  In-store purchases do not qualify,

Most of us shouldn't have a problem making 3 transactions of $35+ at these merchants as Walmart offers free shipping on orders $35+, and your bills at DoorDash can add up really fast.  If you're new to DoorDash, you can sign up using my referral link and get a total of $30 off your first 3 orders.  If you were to spend the minimum of $105 ($35 x3), then the $25 cashback would represent a 24% discount, which is a fantastic offer.

Which credit card to use

Since these will need to be PayPal payments, the best credit card to use would be either your old Chase Freedom or the new Chase Freedom Flex, both which earn 5x on PayPal payments for this quarter.
I've written in the past on how the Freedom Flex is hands down the best no annual fee credit card on the market, earning you 5x on grocery stores in the first 12 months, 3x at restaurants and drug stores, and 5x rotating quarterly categories.  You'll also get complimentary cell phone protection coverage and 3 months of free DashPass, which is DoorDash's premium paid membership that gets you free delivery on orders $12+ and reduced service fees.  If you'd like to apply for the Freedom Flex, you can do so via my referral link and get a 20,000-point sign-up bonus.

Bottom line

This is a great deal with PayPal, and just in time for the holidays, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday.  Since the offer is limited to the first 130k customers, don't delay in enrolling and making your needed purchases.
