Free $50 Explore Session for Amazon Prime members

Amazon is offering their Prime members a free Explore session of up to $50 for their first booking with promo code FREEFUN at checkout.  Explore is Amazon's new beta platform that allows you to book virtual experiences across the world.  Experiences are live and one-on-one, with the ability for you to talk and interact with your host.

How do Amazon Experiences work?

The Experiences include site-seeing (cities, landmarks, nature, etc.), cooking, shopping, wine tasting, magic shows, and more.  You book a time slot for the Experience and call in virtually with your host at the specified time.  You'll be able to see your host and the physical tour on their end, though your host won't be able to see you, so you actually don't need a webcam.  It looks like most of the Experiences run anywhere between 30 and 80 minutes.

What can you do during your Experience?

During your Experience, you can take pictures virtually by clicking on a camera icon.  You can also indicate your interests to the host and speak with locals at your host's location.  Experiences that take you shopping also allow you to buy specified goods, and your host will ship the items to you.  The cost of the goods is not included in the Experience, and certain items such as foods, alcohol, weapons, etc. cannot be purchased.

Offer terms:

• This is a limited time offer.
• Offer only applies to Amazon Explore experiences priced at $50 or under only. Available here made available through Amazon.com.

• This offer is available only to Prime members (excluding free Prime trial members) who have not already purchased an Amazon Explore session.
• Amazon reserves the right to modify or cancel the offer at any time.

• If any of the products, services, or content related to this offer are returned, your refund will equal the amount you paid for the product, services, or content, subject to applicable refund policies.
• If you violate any of these terms, the offer will be invalid.
• Unless an Amazon Gift Card is the stated benefit of the promotion, promotional codes (including those placed directly in accounts) may not be redeemed for Amazon Gift Cards.

Bottom line

This is a pretty cool promo from Amazon allowing you to book a free virtual experience of up to $50.  Since travel has been non-existent for many of us during the past year due to the pandemic, this could be a fun and interactive way for you to tour a landmark or another city.  You can also explore an area you'd like to travel to in the future so that you can be more knowledgeable on what to expect for your actual trip.  I'm personally interested in the 80-minute Baja California Marine Life Tour, which would give you the opportunity to see dolphins (fingers crossed) as your host takes you on a boat ride.  Which Amazon Experience are you going to book?
